Radiator opinion.

I just found that my 4 core radiator is leaking between the cores and we're leaving for Power Tour in a month. Soooooo, not taking any chances, I want to just get a good new one! So I have narrowed it down to 2 choices:

LMC 4 Core Radiator $289.95 + $20 for Oversized shipping
Classic Industries OER 4 Core Radiator $464.99

I personally am leaning towards the Classic Industries one, I have heard good things about their products and the OER products. Anyone have any experience with them? Like I said I don't want to have ANY issues on Power Tour, especially a coolant leak in the midwest in Summer!!!

I am leaning toward a ~450 dollar champion aluminium solution ( 2 core with 1 inch tubes ) with two electric fans.

Check the part numbers but I bought a complete brass/copper 4 core from O'Rielys AP. Fit same as OE, but two issues, pricey and had to plug the auto transmission fittings.

The old Modine replacement part number is/was a 369

If they are both copper/brass radiators the difference is probably where they are made. If the OER is USA made I'd go with that. (It's easy for me to spend your money!)

Man you are reading my mind! Too funny. I am looking at replacing my 4 core as well and been searching around. I found the OER from Classic Industries one but didn't like the price. I don't want an aluminum one but don't want plastic either. But I noticed today that Classic has 20% off if total is over $300. It ends tonight though. That was my clincher. I am buying one right now. Hope this helps!

Look on Rock Auto you can get a direct fit 4 row for $135 I put one in mine and it fit perfect

I've got this radiator in my 72 and it has over 11k miles behind a ZZ4 with A/C running in HOT West Texas. Also, you want a quality 2 core with 1" cores, it's counter intuitive.

I'm with you, 4 core means nothing as far as cooling goes. It may even be a down fall, by the time the air gets to the 4th core it may be too hot to do any cooling. Two 1 inch cores are a lot better.

I bought one of them too in the fall, after getting 3 shipped to me all damaged up, I finally convinced them to give me money to have a radiator shop fix the best one out of the 3. So now I have 2 "spares".

It seems to fit fine but does ride a bit high, I will have to shim my upper retention brackets or make my own.

Eventually I want to get my original radiator re-cored.

I forget where I bought my 4 row brass radiator , was too many years ago...havent ran the truck til recently with new crate engine, anyway, I had to make 3/8" shims for my upper mounts, the radiator was a little too tall , they worked good

I bought one for around $130.00 but it sat a bit high on the core support. One could fab up some upper brackets I am sure to hold it down.

The only thing around here is the new style alum/plastic from napa. 2528 is the part number at 235.00. If you call around to a real radiator shop, you can still find the full brass units. They are however becoming scarce.

That appears to be an aluminum core with plastic tanks. They dont have brass for sale. I dont see this as a bad thing actually,that where technology is now and works well. Have any pics of the one you installed?

Appearances can be deceiving. The one they sent me is definitely not aluminum and plastic.

I don't have it installed yet, I don't even have the core support back onto the truck.

I had an eBay special all aluminum rad crap out on me within a few months. Replaced it with what I should've done in the first place- a factory style replacement from O'Reilly. Yep, it's alum/plastic, but so are the ones in my 5.3 Silverado & Suburban, my kid's Sonoma, my Mercury, and just about every new vehicle produced for the last couple two or so decades. And if it craps out on me 250 miles from home, I find an O'Reillys and warranty it rather than wait to try my luck at warranting it thru the ol' Interweb.
