73-87 Inner Fenders, All The Same?
Hello,
Ive had the inner fenders out of my 1974 C10 for awhile. I was going to paint them and put them back in, but they are both rusted on the bottom flange where they bolt to the front core support. I'm going to do some junkyard hunting and just wanted to make sure that the inner fenders from 73-87 will interchange with each other? Thank you -Gavin

Re: 73-87 Inner Fenders, All The Same?
Not perfectly. I think the break is 80 or whenever they switched to the different front clip.
Can you make a later inner work on an early truck, yes, from experience. A few of the bolt holes don't match and the battery tray support won't match on the passenger side. Before we had a local pull a part, I was sold an inner fender from a salvage yard from a mid 80's PU. They said it would fit my 75. Might have had to drill a hole or two in the inner as well. Years enough ago that I don't remember. |

i replaced a few panels when I redid my front end. do as much junk yarding as you can. i was able to get what i needed that way. aftermarket panels can get expensive (shipping) and its no sure bet they'll fit.

Best bet is to go to a local body shop and order them there. Then there's no shipping.
Have done that quite a few times. Might help if the body shop uses a square body for a wrecker too like mine does lol.

good idea. i never thought of that. after searching high and low in yards and CL i used some panels that were "less beat up" than the ones i had
