Hi vs Lo back bucket question

Quick square bucket question - I believe I've read somewhere that 77 was the transition year from Lo to hi. Can someone confirm? And, my more important question, were there any low backs in 77s early in the year or were they all high backs for the whole production year? Thanks!

Re: Hi vs Lo back bucket question

Early 77's came with the low back bucket seats. When they switched over, that might of been when they went to the cup style consoles also? Although I've seen some late 76 owners say they had cup style console original. We would have to have some 77' spid labels and build dates too confirm this.

Next 77 I see in person with either style ill take a look at build date and see.

Re: Hi vs Lo back bucket question

This is not mine. Just seen it for sale on craigslist. But it does have the low back bucket seats and cup style console. Claims and looks to be really original. Be a awesome truck restored!!!

Re: Hi vs Lo back bucket question

Thanks very much! That is kinda what I was thinking about the seats. I think the cup holder console came in in 75, so should be in all bucket 76 and above. But who knows... ha. Thanks again!
