67-68 side molding on a 71-72?

I found this photo the other day.
I always favored 67-68 because of the polished side trim that's available for them. But even though this would upset a few folks. I thought this looked pretty good myself.

Obviously everyone respects the restorations that look like the car rolled of the showroom.
But... I also like creativity when the vehicle is no longer a candidate for a true restoration.

Anybody ever seen this before?

I agree and have been thinking of this lower trim for my '72 as well. But then my '72 looks like a '67 already. lol...

I would love to put the 67-68 trim on my '69, however with the mix of replacement parts that the PO did (fenders, etc) trying to fill in the holes for the original trim would be time consuming and expensive due to having to repaint.
Right now I am having to replace a couple of pieces of trim and replace the stick on clips with the original metal spring clips. Most of the holes are there, but the PO went the easy way instead of reinstalling the trim correctly after paint.

My 68 has 72 trim on it. Who cares about anyone else's opinion.

That's right, it's how you like it. People would not like my '71 with it's shorten stance and 67-68 front clip and bed. I liked it that way so I bought it
