Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
Guys Im building a 1972 4X4 pickup. Is the trim ring the same on the 4sp floor shifter as the transfer case shifter? I have one that is oval. I need one more or someone to tell me which one I have. I don't need a Chrome one. Just
an original Thank you! Last edited by jbgolden; 05-31-2017 at 07:02 PM. Reason: Add a photo |

Re: Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
My K20 has an auto trans, so no help there... However, that looks exactly like the ring on my t-case boot. Measures about 5 1/2" x 7".

Re: Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
I have an original 72 4x4.. my transfer case ring is exactly like the pic you have. The trans shifter ring that I sourced from a 72 is perfectly round, but I have no idea if it was the original one. Mine looks like ( the round ring) all pics i have seen of shifters in these trucks though. Mine was 3 ott I changed it to 4 spd

Re: Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
Thanks Guys.....So I have one that is perfectly round and one that is oval like in the picture. Do I have what I need? Looking at the Floor pan it looks like I need two oval's. The round looks two small for a SM465 4sp floor shifter.

Re: Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
The small round for the transfer, the big oval or square for the transmission. the big one may have 4 or 6 holes. the more rectangular ones have a screw hole at each corner and the long sides for 6. But you will know by the hole sizes of the openings in your hump also.

Re: Floor Shifter Boot trim rings
It also looks like one for a '70s Duster that YearOne sells... black oval. They also have the rubber boot that goes with it.
It's what I put in my '62 Suburban. -Brad

I checked mine, the one in your pic is for the transfer case, the one for the 4 spd is oval also, just bigger with 6 holes
