67-72 Nationwide Tour
With the Power Tour about to kick off, I started thinking- if I could take off for a month & travel around this great country of ours to check out different members trucks/collections- who would I want to stop & see? This is my list off the top of my head: (not implying any of these guys would want me to show up at their house- just dreaming) 52napco(nice 4x4's),Hart Rod,Bowtie468(sweet black 68 shortie),1967gmckid(67 GMC with 32 miles),jocko,Deadhead,Chevyland, red baron (72 K10 super shortie),davepl, toomuchstuff,Joesjunk(probably could spend a whole day there),Locdoc & I'm sure there are many others that I'm forgetting- what about you? Who would be in your "dream trip?"

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
Well, if you end up doing it.
You're welcome at my place anytime Every person I have met or talked to on this site has been cool My "72 Super Roadtrip- trip Coast to Coast" across the country last year with my son was one one my best vacations, Ever People reached out to us inviting us into their homes, met us on the side of the road. Gave us their farm fresh honey. Had BBQ'set up for us Invited us to their college football tailgate parties. We were treated like family! At every stop. And the connection was made. Many of the posts I participate in, I have met or talked to the member. That's what life is about. Family and Friendship And this site makes it possible to meet new friends with a common interest from all around this great nation, or the world for that matter |

If you stopped here my wife would make you eat Home made Peach Cobbler with home made vanilla ice cream on top.... You are welcome to stop over for a few days anyway, even if you don't like that kind of stuff... The wife and I just got back from the PNW and I got to meet up with some of the members from up that way. Good times! LockDoc

I've got a Roadtrip coming up this month.
It will have a different flare to it! But it involves 2 states Where the landscape is very different. Still working on my blog title! And yes it involves trucks |

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
I like your idea. In a year or so I should have a truck done for a board member from New Mexico. I plan to drive that truck back to him and I'd like to do what you describe. I can't wait to get the truck and start the build. I already have most of the drive train for it. Just waiting for his body man to finish the crew cab portion of the build.
Chevyland, what a very nice place you have!

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
It's a great idea. I sold my last road bike when I bought the '70 C10. Wife says it WAS my last... we will see. Anyway, haven't had a good solo road trip since. Been working on the '72 getting ready for some long distance miles. If I was going to use your idea I would want to add First Owner 69 to the list. I admire that kind of longevity.

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
One reason I hang in here is to keep contact with the people I've met here for the day I can take trips around the country and have friends everywhere I go. I won't list who because the list is long and it all depends on which way I'm going.
I've hosted a few out-of-staters here before, and always said if anyone needs a place to hang a hat for a night or two...I can recommend a cheap motel! No seriously, I will do all I can to make the visit a good one. I'm not into showing vehicles or things like the power tour. I see my use of the '67 as something to go to runs in, near and far, with mostly 2-lane driving and stop-off visits along the way. Or take people out for a tour of my area in it when they visit.

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
Chevyland & LockDoc- thanks for the generous offers (peach cobbler with HM vanilla- yes!!!). This trip won't happen for a while- if ever. Our 9 year old daughter likes my old trucks, but a 5,000 mile road trip would do her & my wife in! Hopefully someday I will be able to do it. Anyone passing thru the Fort Wayne area is welcome here also.

Re: 67-72 Nationwide Tour
That would be so cool to just tour around North America stopping here and there and meeting some board members. I've been fortunate enough to meet some board members, TooMuch Stuff (Eric) in Minnesota, 71swb4x4 (Shawn) South Dakota and he helped me when I was buying my Highlander in 2014, DeadHeadNew Mexico (Pete) in Montana and MusicMan70 (Henry) In California and all have been very gratious and friendly. Locally because oif this site I have made a few good local friends too. I've bought and sold parts on here and have never had a problem with anyone buying or selling. I'm planning to go on the Power Tour in 2019 and hopefully will met some more great folks from this site then.
Josh and Liz should entetain setting up and organizing a National Meet every year and move it around the USA year to year..
