Any ideas what this is?!
Okay, so lets shorten up this long complicated story by saying I will probably soon be inheriting a truck that I know nothing about, no history of it.
So, I would like some input on your ideas of what it might be. I have two pictures of it and not much information at all as I do not have the truck yet. I have been told it runs and needs minor work. To me it appears to be a late 80'S - 90'S model bed and some sort of cab sleeper on an older model (I'm thinking 60) truck. However, it is a dually and I'm not sure if this was a thing in 1960 so it may be that someone swapped the 60 cab onto the newer model truck. Just wanted to see what you all think about it. The interior appeared to all be custom, I only got a quick glance at it. I am new to C10's but pretty well knowledgeable about cars in general so working on it shouldn't be a problem if I can just figure out what this Frankenstein is. Thanks in advance for any help and I look forward to the project. I will keep you all informed of the progress. |

Re: Any ideas what this is?!
The only thing I see that is a '60 Chevy truck is the cab and front sheetmetal. Without seeing the frame and suspension is is impossible to say for sure but I am doubtful that it is a 1960 frame and running gear.

Fab certainly knows better than me, but to me it looks like a '60 LWB 3/4 ton pickup that someone took the bed off of and replaced with a mini-sleeper and the bed of an '80s F*rd.

Re: Any ideas what this is?!
That's a Chevy bed, 90's. Looks like it can be something cool. With a 60's style dually bed like Dino did a while back. I still see potential...
Fab is right though... the only thing 1960 is the body.

Re: Any ideas what this is?!
I agree, without seeing the engine bay and undercarriage, it could be a cab swap on to a 3500 or a bed swap on to a C-30.

Re: Any ideas what this is?!
If it has an TBI or EFI engine its definitely a 60 cab on a 3500 frame.

Thank you for all the replies. I should have it home soon and will be able to get more pictures and start working on getting it back on the road. I will keep everyone updated and of course, post pictures!

Re: Any ideas what this is?!
I'd dump the newer bed and put the correct bed on it or make it a flatbed.

I sure hope the back of that cab was not modified.
