Another newbie
Hello all. I just picked up a 1968 CST LB on pure impulse...angering the wife in the process.
My background is fabricating off-road (Baja type) stuff so this scene is new to me but I am a Chevy guy and have always loved C10 so this works! Truck I bought as mentioned is a 68 with lots of potential, bagged horribly but easily repairable. I have big plans and while doing some lurking on here, found a lot of information already which made me want to join. I plan to strip down to bare frame but while its apart, was toying with the idea of converting it a short bed. What's the general consensus about that? The truck has been hacked up, I'll need a new bed floor, repair the hacked up c-notch frame among other things. Long bed is cool but short bed is just sexier IMO. Thanks guys |

Do what makes you enjoy the truck! I do not have the ability to go from LWB to SWB, but I might if I could.
Pictures are worth a million words...Let's see the pics! Bill

Re: Another newbie
Finally figured out how to post pics. I got it cheap, wheels are going to go, do a 5 lug conversion, and maybe LS engine. Has a 350 in it but might be tired.

Re: Another newbie
If you do fabrication for a living, converting this to a SWB will be easy- if thats what you decide you want (maybe the wife would like it better as a shorty ). Welcome to the forum

Re: Another newbie
I don't do it for a living, for fun and sometimes for others. This is my other project I'm currently building, 2005 VW Beetle Baja bug with full tube chassis, a-arms, sequential trans, 24" of travel and fully enclosed to keep dust out. Wifey is losing her mind with all of my projects...haha.
