CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT SHOULD BE BOLTED TO THE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT. MY CARRIER BEARING KEEPS GOING OUT BUT THE BEARING ITSELF IS IN GOOD SHAPE. THE RUBBER THAT HOLDS THE BEARING KEEPS BREAKING IN TWO. ANY INFO ASAP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

The front and rear driveshafts should be connected by a U-joint. If I am not mistaken, the yoke on the rear of the front shaft was bolted on, but mine had backed out the last time I replaced my carrier brg.

because the carrier bearings most of these trucks have are junk the replacements are junk the only way to solve the problem is to get a 1 piece shaft and eliminate the headache alltogether

Thee needs to be a slip joind between the 2 drive shafts. The front shaft should not move at all front to back, all that movement needs to be taken in by the slip joint.
