Hi all,
Finally got my '68 k10 big block project on the road and now I'm trying to work the bugs out of it. One of the issues is that the throttle cable has a pretty severe bend in it making the gas pedal stiff and low speed maneuvering difficult.

Here is my current set up: Lokar pedal assembly, cheap off brand throttle cable, and an Edelbrock intake manifold, carb, and throttle bracket on top of a 454.

I have a few ideas in mind, but I'd like to hear what you guys think. I'm sick of accidentally chirping the tires at every intersection!

I don't see that pedal on the lokar site. Maybe it was disco'd for a reason?

I would think there would be more cable sticking out of the housing inside of the vehicle. Looks like at closed throttle, the cable end is hitting the cable housing mounting. But you can't add cable...

Lube the crap out of it?
Find a better cable that has a sleeve?
Maybe change the position of the pedal so you have more working leverage - I think you can index the lever and pedal differently right?
Add a stiffer return spring if its hanging the throttle open?

Might be your cable is it sleeved? I have the same setup but using the lokar cable it moves like butter. The offset I have is about the same as you.

I don't think it's been discontinued, part number is XBAG-6164

Are throttle cables supposed to have a plastic sleeve? I don't believe my cable has a sleeve (Like I said, it was cheap).

As I look at other member's setups, it seems like a bend like that is pretty normal. In fact many have a much more severe "S" curve and it still seems to work fine...Maybe I just need a better cable?

The cable should have a plastic sleeve and a Teflon sleeve. Mine works fine.
The small cable inside the S/S sleeve is grabbing the sleeve. I would buy a new cable and it should be fine.

I was on the phone this morning with them talking about the 6164 product and they had it. My question is what throttle mounting bracket are you using because lokar said they do NOT have one (throttle mount bracket) for a TBI setup to go with the XBAG - 6164 assembly.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
