Wilwood prospindle vs CPP modular

So anyone have any opinions on the prospindle vs the modular? I have modular installed now and am looking to upgrade brakes to a wilwood set up and see that wilwood has kits with their spindles...any difference? Thx

Re: Wilwood prospindle vs CPP modular

There's a thread on here talking about them. It's been awhile since I read it. I'm wanting to think they are pretty pricey. I'm keeping my CPPs and going with Wilwoods.

Re: Wilwood prospindle vs CPP modular

I've heard from a couple sources that the CPP Modular spindles flex and can cause pad knock back if you're cornering hard on the track with sticky tires. They're also very heavy. The ProSpindles should be much much stiffer with no knock back issues and a lot lighter since they're aluminum. CPP is suppose to be making their own version, but I haven't heard a release date. I'll probably switch my Modular spindles out just for the unsprung weight reduction. There is a forged aluminum hub that can be ordered for the Modular spindle so you can use slip on rotors, I did that to adapt 2nd gen CTS-V brakes onto my '66. It's a very heavy setup though.

Re: Wilwood prospindle vs CPP modular

I went from aa DJM 3 inch drop spindle and stock brakes to the wildwood setup to the wilwood spindles/12 inch brake on my son's 84. I really like the sealed bearing unit and the whole setup. The weight difference is staggering, and you will need another alignment. I al very happy with the product.

I purchased the pro spindles as well. They are a great design and the sealed bearing unit was the biggest seller to me.
