Front drive shaft hitting trans pan

Has anyone had this issue when re-installing your front drive shaft on a LS swap? I'm wondering if the transfer case has enough play to rock towards the passenger side a bit. Just the corner of the shaft is hitting the corner of the trans pan. It's a new drive shaft and seems a little beefier than the original one, but I wanna see if any of you have run into this and what you did to fix it. I know there are some threads on this subject, but since most were several years ago, just seeing if anyone has come up with new solutions.

It appears that your u-joint yoke is wider. If so, why? What series u-joints are those? 1310? 1330? 1350?

I've seen this before. I believe most who did the swap clearanced the pan.

That is a 1310 u-joint so like was mentioned earlier you will need to clearance the pan.

I'm not sure what series u-joint this is. The shaft is from Napa and is what they listed as a replacement. The diameter of my original yoke looked a little smaller overall than this one, but if it cleared the pan it would only be a fraction on an inch, which I could see potentially being a problem. When you guys are saying "clearance the pan" are you talking about shaving the corner of the pan off as much as possible?

You can clearance it the hillbilly way by whacking it with a hammer, or in my opinion, the more acceptable way by cutting the corner off and welding a patch.

Just make sure to get enough clearance for when you stuff the passenger front tire or it may hit the pan.
