1967 Kaiser Willys Jeep

1967 Kaiser Willys CJ5
Factory numbers matching odd fire Buick V6 (225ci)
Paid $1,000 for it initially, I have no idea what I have into it currently; but Jeeps are like strippers, they're not happy unless you're throwing money at them.

Re: 1967 Kaiser Willys Jeep

I found some old white Jackman wagon wheels from the late 60's early 70's. I sent them off to powder coating. Here are more prep pictures from what I was doing paint and body work. I wanted to take everything down to bare metal so I knew what I was dealing with. I was lucky, the Jeep was a California Jeep and 98% rust free.

Re: 1967 Kaiser Willys Jeep

I shot it with a desert sand metallic, and I hated the way it turned out. I used to shoot aircraft (w/ Enron) so I was accustomed to 35 psi. I didn't realize with metallic, it would cause all the gold flake to rise to the surface . . . So I scuffed it back down and began playing with the paint to dull it out. I've been painting this thing in my garage BTW.

Play on paint . . . wacking down the paint until it gets to a shade I can live with. And now its current resting place until I straighten things out. (Body armor is mocked up)

Re: 1967 Kaiser Willys Jeep

If i had one of those jeeps i wold put a gm 3800 v6 in it from a rear drive firebird/camaro to get the front mounted ps pump, alt. etc. 200 hp with pretty good torque down low and the junkyard should have plenty of used 3800's. Probably would drop right in and bolt up. Nice tidy small package. I like your jeep project!!
