transmission woes
Was driving home today, going up a small hill and I heard a loud bang and then it would barely move (I was able to get it off the road into a parking lot). Any ideas? Torque converter? If so, I wonder what I'm looking at to get it fixed?

Re: transmission woes
Which transmission? Does the truck barely move in all the gears? Any noises after the initial bang?

Re: transmission woes
Sounds like it's time to get an assessment at a trans shop.

Re: transmission woes
I once had a 700R4 that did that. That was the end of it.

Re: transmission woes
Whatever it is it can be good. I was driving my dads truck in high school and the transmission went out. Something similar to what you describe happened and it was the end of that one as well.
