Thumbs down purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

I would like to get some sort of resolution from gmachinz regarding a recent purchase; what was supposed to be a truck NOS grill. I have tried to contact gmachinz for the last two days through PM with no response; I see that he has been online several times. The original thread has been locked so I can't access it anymore as well.

Anyway, it is not a NOS base truck grill, it is, in fact, a NOS base van grill and because of that 7 of the 8 mounting points do not line up.

I was clear about what I wanted to purchase and gmachinz assured me this was the right NOS grill. It is not.

If this NOS grill was sent to me in error I would like the correct grill sent to me soonest. If there is no other grill I would like a full refund.

Thank you
Devin

Here is the link to the original sale thread:

I have PM's and pics if needed.......

Re: purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

on first glance all looks to be in order with the exception of the differences in year styles, but you have to look closer.....

Re: purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

As you can see from the pic the mounting tabs are indexed differently front to back such that when the metal clips are aligned with the corresponding holes on the upper support bracket the grill pushes out too far and interferes with the trim ring. That of course, is in addition to the more obvious labels: "base" from the truck grill that came off my truck and "base van" from the grill gmachinz shipped to me.

What you can't see in the pic is the grill is actually slightly narrower than a truck grill and the lower outer mounting tabs fall about a 1/2" to short from the factory holes in the lower valance.

In addition to not physically mounting up correctly, or at all for that matter, the narrower grill will/would be aesthetically "off" because there will be larger than factory gaps between headlight bezels and front grill.

I can also post the PM's exchanged between gmachinz and I to better capture our fitment discussion.

This very well may have been a honest mistake (at least initially) and I would have been ok with that as long as gmachinz made this right........no harm no foul......unfortunately he has yet to respond to the PM's I sent to him regarding this issue.

Re: purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

I'm not sure what to do at this point as far as this forum is concerned. I've emailed the 73-87 classified moderator and was told I should be hearing from a guy named Josh.

No word yet, from anybody besides the mod; is it possible to get a PM or a post letting me know the forums take on this? or if I could get any help on the matter?

I know life is busy and dealing with something like this is the last thing anyone wants to do but at the same time I feel like that's part of this whole forum deal; we come here to support, contribute, learn, buy, sell and in many cases make some damn cool friends, birds of a feather and all, but, someone has to be the Sheriff.................right?

I would imagine Josh -The Main Man behind this Forum, is reviewing your problem. He has quite a bit to take care of. Not to put your Problems on back burner but I think you should have PM'd somebody a long time ago. The staff will try to get your problems settled as quick as Possible now that they know about it. Good Luck

I hear ya brother! We're all busy; I sent communication to the seller as soon as I realized there was a problem and then the moderator a few days after no response.

Appreciate the support. This very well could be a honest mistake......hard to tell these things though when communication stops on one side.

Re: purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

I feel like enough time has passed with no communication that would lead me to believe anything will or would be done from the admins and/or owner of this forum. Not that it isn't or didn't, I just don't know about it and my personal timeline for waiting is up. No hard feelings. I appreciate the fact that we are offered a section to provide awareness to others on potential future problems. Hopefully, this was/is a one time deal with gmachinz and no one else will have a bad experience; hey, it happens from time to time. I filed a complaint with PayPal so I will just use that process and hope for the best. Thank you.

Re: purchased C10 grill from gmachinz

Update for those interested: Submitted my claim through PayPal; they reviewed the case and I was refunded my money plus $30 to help with shipping the grill back. Shipping was $41 so I'm out about $11. The PayPal process is cumbersome and time consuming but I'm thankful they have one. This is now in my rear view mirror. Never did hear from gmachinz or Josh on the matter.

On a personal note, really sucks to have to go through all this BS on a forum I thoroughly enjoy being apart of--such is life I suppose--onward! Happy Modding!!
