Under bed fuel cell
Hey everyone, I'm a returning old member (I rarely posted anything so you won't remember me), and it's good to be back.
Anyway, I bought a new fuel cell to go underneath the bed of a 68 step side from a vendor on hear called fuel cell guy or something like that, he may have just a recommendation and not a vendor, but I never installed it and it's still in the box. After some horse trading, I now have a 72 fleet side instead. Will there be a way to put the tank under the 72 without too much modification? Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Under bed fuel cell
I see no reason why it wouldn't fit between the frame rails. Someone here may know more than me but I don't think there is a difference in the frame between step and fleet. Mock it up and see.

Re: Under bed fuel cell
If the fleet side is a wood bed, the filler can come up Thru the floor and finish with a flush fit cap, like a boat. If it's a steel floor, there are other options like side filling it like a square body, but it will take some dabbing work. You could also rear fill it from where the tag area is..your choice.
The frame rails are all the same distance apart 67 thru 72. |
