Tough looking truck, but strange for it to have all that rust with that little mileage.

Very cool truck! 427 with a Road Ranger and it has A/C, luckily it's not in Texas or I'd be right after it. Does have a lot of rust, must have been in a rough environment. Auction link and tons of pictures:

Looks like a 13-Speed. Only the second Medium I have ever seen online with a Road Ranger Trans. Nice heavy specs too. Exactly the same as my '71 9500 (12 Fronts, 34 Rears).

Yes sir, it's definitely a HD setup. Really like the air suspension and the interior is in awesome condition. Exact same color as my '84 C30, Doeskin tan and a dark brown dash pad. That truck would make a cool RV conversion lol.

Re: 1986 Chevrolet ME6500 6x6 Cargo Truck

reason of it being rusty is it could have been used to haul salt, or lived where there is acid rain.

Re: 1986 Chevrolet ME6500 6x6 Cargo Truck

That was a US Govt former command post emergency response vehicle that was more than likely forgotten about in one of the US Pacific Islands or other tropical areas. All the electronic equipment racks and heavy refrigeration units with Floor ducting is a dead giveaway along with the intermediate access door to the computerized space. It would be cool to know its true history and use, as well as what happened that caused it to be long forgotten rotting away in a tropical environment for so long.

That is crazy cool! What front axle would have been in a truck like that?
