What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I am at the point of painting the inside of my cab before I can install all of the interior. What color looks best? Samples are encouraged to be posted.
Note:I have an orange and white 72 already, I don’t want another that color. I was planning on fauxtina but am not certain I want to go this way anymore. I have considered Black, sea foam green and blue from the trucks era. I am not planning to have chrome trim. So is single color the right way to complete it? I think I would like to stay with factory colours but could be swayed to others.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I really really like the 'seafoam green' color that was available on our trucks. I don't know the correct color code for it, but I'm sure someone will chime in. Looks great with or without trim.

507 blue, like your inner cowl. With a white roof.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
We had a recent poster looking for the original off-white or ivory color. While trying to help him find an example I posted something I thought was the one but it ended up being a very light, light yellow and it stuck on me.
My vote is this: -klb

I think it's hard to argue with the 507 blue. We just finished this one....
Silver also looks good on these trucks if you're serious about only using one color.

If I go with the white roof, are the A Pillars and the upper portion of the door frame supposed to be white or Blue?

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
What color interior? Do you want it to compliment your other truck or stand totally apart. I'm sticking with the '67 SWB and the '72 K2500 and I keep leaning toward making the colors (OEM) look good side by side. One short low and one long tall from first and last years made to look good together.
I like the pastels on '67s solid paint

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I didn't mean same color or even different shade of Orange. I mean a color that looks right with your other. For instance, I had a Hugger Orange one and an Ochre one and they went well together. Not too long ago I had a red one, a white one, and a blue (and white) one. My pair I have now will end up somewhere in the gold to brown spectrum. Certainly not matching, yet complimentary to each other when parked together.
On '67s the factory 2-tone was only the top, above the rain gutter. I think it looks best. Also for the silver suggestions, good idea since Silver was a color offered that didn't carry through years, or anything close. I like the colors other years didn't get on '67s

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
Lets be honest, as soon as you start modifying the truck, lower stance, air bags newer engine, non-stock body mods etc. there's no more need to stick with period correct colors. My 2 cents.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
Oh I dunno about all that. These trucks look best in the factory colors no matter what way you go. There is a long time distinct classic style of doing as you wish to the mechanicals, wheels, stance, etc while leaving the body the wonderful design they left the factory with that has even young people today strongly drawn to them more than most any other truck ever made. Staying factory colors is a safe way to go and not have regrets in the future when the trendy color of the day gets put behind for the next trend. If I go custom color I go with one that looks as if it could have been used in that year/era. Like a color from a GM car of same era or a very close to factory shade but with pearl. That Light Green '68 has a cream instead of Ivory for the accent color. It also has silver misted ghost flames. The truck is custom but still has a factory vibe till you look closer. Very tastefully customized in my book

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
The factory blues and greens used on the 67/68's are some of the coolest colors GM ever put on a truck.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I saw 68 ( I believe...) in a magazine. It was silver and white. REALLY looked nice. I think that would be cool. Maybe give the white a very very small tint of gray, just enough to take any the shiny white look, but still use glossy paint..........

I love silver on a single color, no trim truck. This is Silver Birch Metallic.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
503 green or 507 blue. I love green but I would lean to 507 blue just because the cab was that color from the factory and looks great with painted bumpers.

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
You want to go wild? I almost did this with my '68 Skylark California GS, but ended up selling it. This truck is enough of a money sink, and I really didn't need 7 vehicles for 4 drivers, even if it was a kick to drive.
Ed Hubbs does some great work! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu23Yg_JKVQ

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I am leaning towards 503 and 507. Debating going with white roof or not. What is your thoughts on painting the interior White rather than body color? has any one seen pics that would sway me one way or the other?

Re: What color should I paint my bagged 67 short box?
I'm in the same boat as you .... I have a 67 swb factory 503 truck .... But I'm not a green fan .... I'm down to 503 green or white , with all trim ... I can't decide and I need to paint my firewall at least so I can put cab back on frame ....

Cortez Silver with Black interior and Black accents. Maybe even a black roof too. Such a bad a$$ color combination. Gun metal rims. Pretend the Camaro is a c10.
