4 speed trans to Th350 driveshaft question
have a 64 that converting to auto, have the right cross member for the auto, have searched and searched but can not find a straight answer, the truck has 2 piece shaft want to keep that or try,do i need a different shaft for the one to the carrier bearing or just need a slip yoke for the trans and this shaft will work,seems like a simple question ,or does that shaft need to be shortened

There are 3 different lengths of TH350 tail shafts. You will have to measure and have your front driveshaft shortened accordingly. Yes you will need a slip yoke at the trans.

Having a driveshaft shortened and balanced at a local driveline shop is not typically very expensive. I've had it done several times. They will tell you exactly how they want you to measure for the new length.

here is what I wound up doing changing from 3spd to Muncie 4spd which is the same length as a short shaft th350

You will need the truck at ride hight to measure the drive shaft if need to be shorten. The turbo 350 tail is 6,9,or12 inches.
