Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a set of these 6-lug beauties in chrome.

If you're running them, I have a few questions:
1) What wheel size did you decide on? I'd like to do 15x8 all-around
1) What backspacing did you go with; 4" or 4.5"?
3) Did you add a trim ring? I prefer the chrome by itself.
4) Did you add a rally cap? I'm thinking of these since I really like the Corvette-rally look:

Pics would be awesome, thanks!

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

Good luck, I odered two 15x8 and two 15x10 with 5x5 lug with 5 inch backspace for my 71 SB four months ago and will finally get 15x8 with 4 inch backspace next week from Summitt. Totally Wheel Vintiques saying they don't have the components to make them. They are a wheel manufacturer!!!!!
Summitt is a good source to order these, make sure it can ship right away before you order! I've waited because I ordered the solid chrome wheel with the "baby" center caps. Got the caps two days after ordering and will get the wheels five days after changing or "compromising " what I wanted. I will post pics soon as I get them on. This didnt answer your question but make sure you can get what you want!

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

Guess not many people have these wheels...

How about 4" vs 4.5" backspacing for ANY 15x8 wheel? What do ya'll recommend for a 2.5" drop disc converted C-10?

I have a better pic of this truck somewhere. Not sure on the backspacing but I like them out as far as possible without rubbing. I'll be going with 15x10 and 15x8. Vette caps and not sure about rings but if so they will be the wide ones.

Beautiful setup. With that, I'm leaning towards 4" backspacing.

So you have the trim rings on as well? I may run these with vette caps only since the entire wheel is chrome.

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

Not my truck just a couple pics I saved. I'll try to find the owners user name. I agree the trim ring is probably overkill on a chrome wheel. The knock off caps look pretty good too though.

Yeah those wheels look great on that truck. Looks like a 2.5"/4" drop?

Take a look at the rally wheels from speedway motors. They have them in chrome, and they look identical to the Vette rally’s.

These the ones you're talking about?
GM Chrome 15x8 Rally Track Wheel, 6 on 5.5 Inch

Thanks for the tip, they're definately cheaper than Wheels Vintique. Looking through their caps though, I saw generic derby caps, but not the Chevrolet ones like above. The question now is would the Wheels Vintique cap above fit on this Speedway Motors wheel?

It’s been nearly 4 months now that these Wheels Vintique rally’s have been on backorder. At this point I’d rather go with the Speedway motors version if I could confirm that the bow tie derby caps will fit on them.

Bump for anyone running Speedway rally’s with the bow tie derby caps above.

Good question, I’d call them up and ask. Or ask in the question area of the catalog.

Talking Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

I'm going to throw these in the mix to.
Rev 107's they are multi lugs. This is my 64 SS Impala with them with brushed lips no need for trim rings. I don't know if they make them in chrome are not though. Mine are 18" 8" wide all around.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

Those Rev's look awesome on that car. Seem like most impalas these days stick with dayton wire wheels, glad to see something different.

I've also seen them on a couple trucks on this site as well, very impressive.

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

These are the 33 series, 15x8 with 4in bs, with 245 60 15 on front and 275 60 15 rear with the baby center caps. Front disc brake hubs will require you to modify the back of the caps to go over the hubs. I am really happy with the wheels and tires but Wheel Vintiques need to get their act together. Summitt Racing was great!

I've read a lot reviews from guys who opted for the shorty caps because they felt the stock ones stick too far out. They look awesome on your truck though. I think the 33 series is just the 31 on a 5 bolt pattern right?.

I'm running 15x8 and 15x10 Rallys on my 83 with the plastic derby caps, these pics show the wide trim rings, I have since switched to the narrow rings

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

Fellas here's my dilemma; These wheels have been backordered for nearly 4 months now.

Here's the specs on the plastic derby caps they say WILL fit on the Speedway chrome rally wheels (from their website):
These derby hubcaps are chrome plated with smooth, plain centers. They are designed to specially fit our GM Style Rally Wheels where the cap snaps onto the wheel onto the 7" o/d spec.

Designed especially for our GM Style Rally Wheels
Chrome plated ABS
Smooth no-name centers
Sold each
Specs
3.75" deep
3.5" diameter I.D. end of snout
4.5" diameter I.D. opposite end of snout

Now, I measured the bowtie derby caps that I have and it fits all these measurements:

So it would appear that these WOULD fit. I'm just concerned about that part they say about "...designed to specially fit OUR GM Style Rally Wheels". Think it's worth a gamble?

Best case scenario is they fit perfectly. Worst case is I'm out some $$$ on return shipping. Option three is I keep waiting for Wheels Vintique.

Re: Wheels Vintiques 31 series - who's running them?

I sure like those 31's and they would be my pick if I ever decide to go Chrome. Only I would run them with No Cap and use Chrome Lug Nuts like I used to do years ago with my Chrome Reverse.

Right now I'm running steel stocks painted white with no caps on my '72 C-10.
