Mixing Nitto tires - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I’m ready to buy new tires for my truck and plan on going with 255-40-20 in the front and 295-40-20 in the rear but I just found out that for those sizes Nitto NT420S would be the front style and NT555 G2 for the rear has anyone had any issues running different tread designs on lowered trucks or should I look for another brand of tire??

I don't see how a tread design would affect anything on the road , other than maybe during rain or water hazards,
in my Poorer younger years I ran many different styles depending on what I could find in the junk yards, I just always tried to keep them all the same size (side wall size) but always ran bigger (wider) in the back

I would not do it. But I'm sort of anal about tires you see. My beef with this would be that the side wall might be slightly different visually due to the way the tread pattern tends to wrap around a bit there and/or the lip of the wheel integrates with the tire's edge ( whether or not there is a protective tire lip or groove ).

Not to mention having different tread patterns front to rear!

That's just me though.

I’m kinda starting to shy away from the Nitto and looking at Toyo tires I can get both sizes with the same tread.

This. I'm the same way and mixed tires can kill the look you are going for IMO.

I'm too picky to have different tread front and rear, I'd go with the Toyo Proxes. They are available in both of those sizes. That's what I'm running on my truck in the same sizes you mentioned.
