Re: New Truck
Sorry, I can't help you with lowering. Just want to congrat you a nice pickup!
I just bought a similar pickup, 2005 Chevy, man I like mine! Does yours have 17" tires? |

Re: New Truck
Lowering shackles are cheap and easy for a 2" drop.

Re: New Truck
Any draw backs to installing the shackles?
any certain brand that I should look for? Any tips? I saw also spacers for the leaf springs that install between the axle and leaf to lower. Oh Masongmc- yes it is a very clean truck, thanks, I picked it up from second owner, guy about 70 or so. 118K on odometer |

Re: New Truck
I used DJM, but there are plenty of good quality shackles available. They are pretty simple to swap out, 2 bolts per side.

Re: New Truck
The shackles do lower the travel and work well . I have done this on my o6 and been running it for years and tow a pretty heavy boat .
Now on the o4 I think if you look under the truck you may see a 2" block between the leaf and rear . I do know the 4wd trucks have this . If your 2wd has this block you can remove the block and keep the travel of the spring . You will need new shorter u bolts . Take a picture from behind the truck so we can see what you have . |
