Suspension and disc conversion kits
Having trouble trying to decide on a suspension and brake conversion kit. Just want to do it right the first time. Going to be daily driver, lowered 3.5/5 but handle well. Looking for recommendations on which kits ECE, MAGAUHYS, BROTHERS, CPP, not wanting break the bank...Thanks in advance

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
I went with ECE 2 1/2 spindles and 1 1/2 springs for the front. I wanted 2in springs but the guy that was helping me recomend 1 1/2 instead for a daily driver. He was right! I drive real hard But it hardly bottoms out Front snubbers cut in half. Rear coils swapped for 2500 lbs convoulted bags NO LIMIT shock relocators and panhard bar.Cheap monroe shocks but it rides and drives great. No info on brakes yet but planning on wilwood D52 calipers front and rear with CAPITIN FAB brackets for rear with awd astro van front calipers on rear.

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
I think the key is the drop spindle. ECE gets a lot of good recommendations.
The previous owner did a full 3 or 4 inch drop spring on the front of my truck. It rides horrible and has a nasty bumpsteer issue. He cut the bump stops (with what I assume was an axe or maybe a hatchet) I'm sure that the truck hits the bump stops frequently while driving I plan on buying drop spindles and a 1" springs from ECE and all Moog parts to rebuild the front end. Then get an alignment to correct these problems. For brakes, I converted to hydroboost with disc up front and drums in the rear. All rebuilt with factory parts from Rockauto.

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
ECE!!!!!! Just order the kit without the KYB shocks and get the correct lowered shocks. CPP sells some or get the Ridetech HQ shocks if budget allows.

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
Another good reason to buy from ECE. All their stuff uses OE or off the shelf parts.

Finally decided on ECE brake and suspension, but there website will not give me the shipping cost. So I’m unable to complete my order. Anyone else having trouble? Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, they may even offer a discount for being a board member here.

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
I have been putting off replacing my Drum Brakes with Disc as I tried to digest all the Information on this Site! I Finally pulled the Rope and Bought a MaGauhy's 6 lug Kit for my 64. It is the one that uses the stock Drum Brake Spindles. I went that way as I rebuilt the Complete Front End less than 1000 Miles ago. I got the Kit from Carid for $284.05 with a Coupon and Free Shipping. Nothing Fancy Cast Rotors and Rubber Brake lines. If anybody is interested the Kit # is 63157 and the SKU # 199418602. Haven't made my mind up on Master Cylinder set up yet.

Re: Suspension and disc conversion kits
Hi Kirk, Were you able to install the ECE kit and if so what were your overall impressions? any photos to show the before and after, as I am contemplating a drop as well, I just don't wasn't to slam the truck to the ground. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
