Steering Wheel Size
Want to change the size of my steering when when I put in the Ididit column. I thin the stock wheel is 15.5 inches? What do you folks change to, size/diameter wise, with a new column. Have rack and pinion power steering.

Re: Steering Wheel Size
With power steering, you could go down to a 14" or 15" aftermarket one. In trucks I like 15" better as they look like the right size and not too small. I also like to rest my elbow on the window sill and it allows my hand to comfortably reach the wheel. I would not recommend anything smaller than the 14". I thought the original wheels were closer to 17" for leverage on non power steering trucks.

Re: Steering Wheel Size
Thanks for that. I alo think the 14 inch is too small. Will go with 15 inch. I had no idea the stock wheel was that large. You could steer a barge with that!

Re: Steering Wheel Size
Mine is the comfort grip wheel for a Camaro, 14". It is a nice size and has the look for this era of trucks. One note if you are not aware, pre 67 columns don't quiet fit modern wheels as well. The turn signal and horn cam clocking are off on the older ones. I happen to have a column/steering shaft from a 69 C10 in my 64.
