Recently Acquired 1977 C10 Silverado

So back in September I purchased this One Owner 1977 C10 Silverado in NC. Originally a VA truck, it had been brought to NC by the family settling the estate. It is a factory AC, 12 Bolt, Woodgrain interior truck. The previous was a maintenance fanatic and a retired Air Force Communications guy. The documentation on this truck includes notes of every gallon of gas ever put in it, 30K mile on the rebuilt 350, 1200 miles on the rebuilt TH350, and completely rebuilt front suspension. Since I have my own shop and am beginning a frame off on a 62 GMC Suburban, I wanted a truck that would pull off the mild patina/original-ish vibe and one that I could use this summer to ride. The first pics I am posting are of the trip home and day two after removing the camper, which I had a receipt for when purchased the day after the truck was bought new. I have an Instagram @HarrisonsRodShop and will be posting pics there as well during the process of making it my own. Here we go.......

Re: Recently Acquired 1977 C10 Silverado

In the days following I did a thorough cleaning and inspecting of the truck. I found the original build sheet still in place as well as the dealer emblem from WB Chevrolet in Basset, VA. The interior is pretty good with the exception of a few splits in the seat and the door panels will be getting replaced. The dash pad is really clean and the woodgrain is flawless. I'll be doing an ACC Carpet kit, door panel lowers, and kickpanel carpets. Also, I have spoken to my interior guy about a distressed leather seat with Plaid insert, and some distressed leather door panel pockets as well.

Re: Recently Acquired 1977 C10 Silverado

Not much to report other than some preliminary plans made as far as direction and parts. Made a trip up to my buddy, Black Label Coatings, to select color for the 20/8 and 22/9 Mobsteel wheels. I've selected a dark brown and will be having the center color painted the same color. Also, I have been in contact with Speedway Seatcovers in Johnson City, TN about doing a distressed leather seat with plaid insert.I have attached a quick sketch I sent over to him for an idea of what I want the seat to look like. He'll also be doing distressed door panel pockets that I'll add to USA1 door panels. I also purchased a set of NOS Dog Dish Caps for the Mobsteels.
