HO52 rear gear
Where can I find photos of 3 different gear cariers , open, locker, limited slip, for visual I.D. of each HO52/HO72?

Re: HO52 rear gear
I don't they were ever offered with 3 series gears.
Sorry totally mis-read your question. I think there's a good thread on the HO52, right right here with some pics. From the outside the differential cases look very similar. Everything is hidden inside.

Re: HO52 rear gear
Thank you big dave, gonna take a while to go thru that one. I am searching for a 410 gear to swap out 5:14 / HO72. I would like to know what to look for to ID limited slip or open. Photos will help and that thread has some.

Re: HO52 rear gear
There are only (2) differential options. The Maximum Traction "Detroit" Locker and the open. They fit inside the carrier so externally they look the same.
I'm pretty sure you can use 14 bolt internals if you swap to 30 spline axles. Check out the HO52/72 thread on Pirate4x4.com
