Old circuit card worn and didn't fit exactly enough to span across the tach install. Lost a few connections, mostly signal indicator lights, so I built a harness. Sure there's a few things I could've done differently but it works. That's more than I could say for the circuit card.

Nice work! I've wondered about this mod and how easy it would be. You've made it look good and easy.

Any tips or tricks you've learned?

Thank you. Took a full 8 hour day of straight wiring (for me) to get it done. The twist lights need to be trimmed to fit and everything mapped. Used a Deutsch connector and crimping tool. Worked out ok.

That looks great! Where did you find the harness connector? When I did the autometer setup in mine I ended up using a few 4 wire trailer/vehicle harness plug/connectors and just wrapped colored electrical tape around them to designate what connected where.

Thank you. The harness connector is a Deutsch DT 12 pin from online. Wirecare.com has them but there are others. That's just the one I used. Were I to do it over, I think it might be easier to use two 6 pin connectors.

The connector came from Wirecare. I purchased a kit with the 12 pin and crimping tool.
The connector is high quality, weather resistant and the pins are nickle plated. You'll have to assemble the pins and barrels with this type of connector and that will require their crimping tool. The pins/sockets (male/female) are closed barrel connection and the have an outstanding grip when crimped with the appropriate tool. It's unlikely that the pins/sockets will fit into the housings if, for example, they are crimped using pliers or a tool not specifically designed for the size and type.

Thank you. Yes I have pics of the steps and I will gladly share them. Unfortunately, I will be very busy for the next two weeks so It may be a short while before I can make a thread. But I will.
