With a 3.5" front drop, will a 255/50/20 tire fit?
This will be on an 87 with an LS swap. I will be running a 2.5" drop spindle and a 1" lowering spring from ridetech. Rims are the Ridler 695. 20x8.5 with 4.75" backspacing. The tire works out mathematically as a 30" tall tire but i am guessing it will come in just under that as most tires seem to run under their measurements.
I am hoping they will fit but wanted to see if anybody was running something similar and could give some feedback. Thanks! Last edited by UATahoe; 03-06-2018 at 03:23 PM. |

I used to have that tire size on the front of mine with djm drop spindles. I just dont remember the offset. I have 5” offset 22x9 now and run a 265/35r22. One thing you have to be careful of is whether the center cap will fit over the dust cover on the spindle. I hope this helps somewhat. I haven’t ever ran Ridler wheels, but I would definitely call them up and see if they can give you any input on the fitmet.

Perfect man. Great looking truck. That stance is exactly what i am shooting for . Agree with pulling up the rear bit. I like a little bit of rake on these trucks. What are the drop specs on the rear?

Re: With a 3.5" front drop, will a 255/50/20 tire fit?
Gotcha. So roughly 5". Mine is lowered 4" in the rear with lowering leaf springs from western chassis. I have some drop shackles in case i want to go lower. I do feel like my truck is sitting higher than most though. At a 4" drop, it just doesnt look very low at all. But it may need some time to settle. Its been sitting without the bed on for almost a year. Finally got the bed on last weekend.

Re: With a 3.5" front drop, will a 255/50/20 tire fit?
That would make sense. Yep, i like a little bit of rake as well. Little more of an aggressive stance. Judging by that i am thinking i might end up needing another 1" lower in the rear but i will let it settle for a bit and see how it looks.
Thanks again man for all of the info! |
