Looking at a C65 Dump - new to larger trucks.
So I've got enough work to do around the farm to need a dump truck. I know basics of mechanics but it would be a stretch for me to ever go into a transmission without someone on stand-by. That said I'm questioning whether to get a mason dump because I'm basically familiar with the mechanics of things or if I should go for someone like a 1978 C65 dump I saw on craigslist. I do need it to be able to drive on highways - not super long distances. Here's a link to one I was looking at: https://newhaven.craigslist.org/cto/...535279951.html
How different are things or are there any special concerns with this model or year? Are parts pretty available? Should I look for anything in particular before I check out a midsized dump? What's a fair price for a working model of this year (understanding that the person says it needs "some work"). |

Re: Looking at a C65 Dump - new to larger trucks.
Looks like a decent truck for Farm work and driven locally. It has nice heavy specs at 24,000 GVW. Price isn't bad, depending on what the details are on "needing some work". Parts should be reasonably available, as they made plenty of these trucks. Some Pick-Up parts will also fit.
