Rear mount tank TBI
My truck has been converted to a Vortec 350 and has an in tank pump. I want to relocate the tank, my question is will I be able to use the in tank pump and sender? Or will I need to use a different since I'm moving from the cab to frame? I'd greatly appreciate any help.

Re: Rear mount tank TBI
I think the pump in cab set up is different, size, depth, angle....rear tank could be run several ways. In tank pump, or external pump on the frame. Use the search bar for rear mount tank. Moving fuel tank out of cab etc...Welcome aboard....

I’m not sure if your existing pump would work or not. I would pull the pump once you get the tank to see if it would work. If you do have to purchase a pump, just remember to buy one specifically for TBI, it runs at a much lower pressure then port fuel injection. My further advice would be not to run an external pump. They make too much noise.

Re: Rear mount tank TBI
I've ran in to this problem. So let me get this clear you have aq Fuel injected Vortex Motor and you need a 30 pounds of pressure for the injected motor.Just to let you know back in the early 80's they did not have the fuel pump in the tank it was on the frame. So you could use your take behind your seat and change nothing but the mounting of a electric fuel pump on your frame you have to do some drilling install a toggle switch or hook it to something that has power when the key comes on.Run the wires to the fuel pump and your done plus hooking up your lines. If you have a fuel pump on your engine you need to disconnect it so you can get what ever fuel Pressure you need. Then your done.I like the gas tank behind the seat safest place for a gas tank.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to order the tank and see what I can come up with.

Re: Rear mount tank TBI
An 87 blazer tank is setup for an in-tank pump. It also fits in our trucks with a little bit of work. You will be much happier with an in-tank pump. Trust me.
