1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.

I Found a Factory 1978 Two-wheel drive blazer, The thing runs, drives and stops. but the Body had too many rust issues. the frame is very clean, with no rust .. kool! . so I removed the body, degreased and power washed the rolling chassis. and found a nice Arizona no rust body. now a little paint on the frame and i will set on the new body. its powered by a 350v8, 350 turbo trans and 308 rear gear.

will keep updating................ dave

I'm thinking blue and white he says and then like 3 days later... Oh yeah, here it is. You have been busy! I'm usually a fan of a darker blue, but that 'ice' blue looks great!

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.

Curious why you used the narrow side trim? It looks like 73-80 trim,... or am I mistaken.

i used the 78 trim because i didnt want to use the wide stick on trim, Here in Az the heat had a effect on loosing up the glue and trim falls off.
so i thought i would try the narrow aluminum 78 trim and metal clips
.
the real question is what to you think of it. thumbs up? or down?
good or bad i would like to know...
thx dave

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.

I like the correct trim for these trucks blazers and burbs.
The wrong year bumpers and tailgate trim also bug me.
I guess if I didn’t want the stick on 81-87 trim,... I would just leave it a solid color.

Same thing with trim on the 67-72 trucks.
I see a lot of 67-68 side trim now being put on 69-72 trucks.

Just my opinion.

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.

You bring up a good point about the factory '81-'91 stick on side trim. Even here is Texas, the trim does tend to come off over time.

As for using the narrow earlier trim, I think it looks good on the blazer. It is a nice change that seams stock, but custom at the same time.
