Talking 1971 K5 Blazer CST Southern California

My 1971 Blazer CST was purchased in Compton ca on offer up. This has been all new to me learning about these blazers and how expensive original parts are lol. The blazer will need a lot of love and I will just post pictures here of what I will be fixing on it. The blazer came with rust in rockets and dual gas tanks mounted underneath the cab. I will remove all of that a replace it with new sheetmetal panels. The truck didn't come with a top and original seats which I plan to put back. Here are some pics attached.

Since I bought the blazer I have been reading up on this forum but havent posted much. I was able to find a double wall top with some damage that will need some attention later in the thread. But here are some pics when I picked it up and put it on the k5.

My plan with this blazer is to restore it to driver condition. I really just want to enjoy driving this thing. The blazer runs and drives but does not brake very well so I replaced the brake booster to a 1 ton and kept the stock master cylinder. Also put new rotors, calipers, and pads. I'll add some pics in next post

I see your interior is parchment, I have a couple original parchment seat belts if interested. I don't have a complete but can get you pictures of what I do have.

Here are the pics of the brakes. I painted everything aluminum so that way they don't rust. I also had my seats redone in parchment white. I got the seats from a 73 blazer and made them to look like 69-72. Edit sorry for some reason forum won't let me upload pics

You're in southern Cal...get that top off of her!

I've got a top but have never put it on.

Once on, it's always less likely to be taken off...

Best wishes!

Wil
