Passenger seat latch

Hi all, looking for a picture or diagram showing where the hold down latch is installed on the passenger side for a 71 Blazer. I went through the 67 to 72 Factory assembly manual page by page and could not find anything. If any one has a picture maybe with some measurements I appreciate it. I thought I might just put the seat in and line up front holes and then where were the latch works in the back drill some holes. It seems metal was replaced back there and there are no holes now. Thanks.

Re: Passenger seat latch

I just measured my 72 which should be the same.

If you strike a straight line thru the center of the front bracket holes and go straight back to center of the holes you need, I come up with 13.25''. From the flat vertical back kick up (red on yours) to center of holes coming forward should be 6.25''

From the flat vertical edge of the center hump to first hole is 7.75'' and second hole is 11''

Hope that helps

Richard

Re: Passenger seat latch

I will also assume you have already looked at it from underneath, but in case you haven't they might have just patched over and the original nuts may still be welded underneath. They are not inside the torsion box area so you should be able to see them without removing anything if they are still there.

Re: Passenger seat latch

I did go underneath and I did not see any of the nuts. But it was raining and I was just in a hurry to get the homemade brackets out. I'll double-check tomorrow. Having said that your diagram was above and beyond what I expected in the way of help, can't thank you enough.

Re: Passenger seat latch

there is or should be a flat plate that is mounted to I think the frame or a rear support and it has the nuts on it for the bracket. I have a section of blazer floor if I get a chance I will post a pic tomorrow for you

Re: Passenger seat latch

Remembered my phone this morning. Here is a pic of top and bottom. Bottom had a thick stamped bracket that goes to the rear cross member on the floor
