Shifter question
Has anyone put one of the bench seat lokar shifters in their truck? I have a th400 in my 69 and am needing to know how the fit is and if the cable or the rod linkage was used.

Re: Shifter question
I'm putting a cable operated Lokar shifter in my '68 right now. I'm guessing you are talking about the bench bend lever for yours. Mine is a single bend, 8 inches in length. The nice thing about the cable shifter is the latitude in placement, so I didn't really need to worry about interference of the lever with the seat. So far the install is going well. There are a couple of pics on the last two pages of what did you do to your truck today thread.

Re: Shifter question
I did a Rod shift linkage unit in my 68 and doing rods again in both of my 67's. I like the feel of the rod over the cable for my applications.
I am using the 23" dual bend as I wanted it a bit higher / closer to the dash. The adjustments are pretty endless so I can tilt it any way I need using the brackets that came with it. Very very happy ![]() Here is a pic after installation. ![]() |
