Lokar cable shifter issue

Has anyone installed a Lokar cable shifter in their truck? My install was going well until I put the lower slide to adjust bracket on the rearmost 2 bolts as instructed. The round opening ends up next to the transmission crossmember blocking the cable installation. I moved my bracket up two holes but it is causing the cable to be somewhat tweaked to connect for the shift lever properly and not much latitude in adjustment. Just wondered if I have an odd crossmember or something
