Is this a Dana 44?
Wasn’t sure where to ask this question but the rear end is suppose to be out of a 1988 one time chevy. I thought it should’ve been a 14 bolt but nope. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Re: Is this a Dana 44?
Thank you for the info. It looks like this one is stamped “70 HD” on the front top passenger side. Measurements are in keeping with the chart of roughly 12” high and 11” wide on the differential cover.

Re: Is this a Dana 44?
The picture is upside down and a little close up to really tell but it appears to be a 70hd.
It will have 4" axle tube diameter and be 77" wide.

Re: Is this a Dana 44?
4'' tubes for sure, but not all of them were that wide, there are some single wheel 70hds than come in around 68ish

Re: Is this a Dana 44?
I’ll measure it when I get home. I was told it was 1988 chevy one ton and it’s a dually rear
Thanks, Wade |

Re: Is this a Dana 44?
Square body 88 will be 77" where new body 88 is narrower.
