Help.. Wiper Motor wire diagram

hi all,
I am in the home stretch of wiring up a 66 GMC and can't figure out the windshield wiper setup. Previous shop cut, yanked, pulled all the old wiring out as the owner was going to put in a new harness. needles to say I got the job of finishing it up.

the motor is a Delco Remy 12-volt Type E motor as stamped on the end, original part number 5045500. this has 3 connections together and one off by it self. pump has two wires still attached, blue and yellow. yellow has a connector on the end, blue doesn't. switch has four connection on the back. L, H, P and with I think is power in??

If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it so I can move this project to the done column.

Re: Help.. Wiper Motor wire diagram

Thanks. these are the best examples I have seen.

my switch has 4 connections to it.?? I thought the power would have gone to the switch then to the wiper motor. but is seems the power goes to the motor. you think the other connection on the switch would go to ground? there is continuity from that connector to the other positions on the switch.

So if I turn to the first position I have continuity from B to L and nothing to the H or P.
second position I have continuity from B to H and nothing to L or P.
push the switch in and continuity from B to P. (didn't check to see if there was continuity to either L or H depending on which was selected.

thank you RocknRod for the info.

Re: Help.. Wiper Motor wire diagram

these are great. My confusion is now with the switch. all these show a 3 connection switch. I have a 4th connection. not sure if that one should go to power or to ground.

I will wire things up as shown and try both with a fused jumper so as not to damage the motor.
