Rims to fit hubcaps
I want to replace the widowmakers on my '72 C20. I would like to retain the original hubcaps though. What are my options? I have seen sets that might have worked from later Chevys come and go on Craigslist, but you have to be quick to pick them up. Is there a new aftermarket option with the proper hubcap nubs? The bolt pattern is 8x6.5.

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
I understand that Ford has a 16x7 eight lug rim that will work with factory hubcaps.
Available in U-pull yards on 3/4 and 1 ton vans. IDK any part numbers, so hopefully some one else will reply.

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
Any 8-lug truck wheel with nubs will work. The square body 16s, Ford, Dodge, IH, whatever. The later Ford Accurides give you a 7" rim, wider than the rest. You can but these wheels brand new. You can also buy Wheel Vintiques brand new in stock size, but no vent slots like original... for some lame reason. If you look at trailer supply inventory you will find then, too. If it has nubs, the hubcaps will fit. Things were actually simple and standardized with trucks at one time.

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
If I'm going to U-pull yards, how new should I look for to avoid widowmakers?

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
The last split rims I remember were around 1976 Fords.

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
Won't I get stuck on the side of the road if I run FURD rims?

Re: Rims to fit hubcaps
I grabbed the four rims off a new arrival to the local junkyard, a 1974 chevy C20. my 72 C20 hubcaps fit the 16" rims perfectly.
