Is this a factory step bumper?
Picked this up yesterday from 71tim in Indy. He pulled it off his 71 GMC from out west. Its listed on his SPID, just wanted the experts to confirm. Thanks!

Re: Is this a factory step bumper?
Yes, up to 71 that is the correct GM step bumper. 72 was different.

Re: Is this a factory step bumper?
My truck had the original just like that on it. Really heavy..
I had the hitch plate straightened, then blasted and powder coated silver. Definitely going to reuse it. Last edited by Econman; 08-06-2018 at 10:35 PM. |

Re: Is this a factory step bumper?
Yep, you have a 67-71 step bumper.
67-71 factory step bumper: 4" C-channel rounded at corners with diamond plate top and back flange. 72 factory step bumper: 4" tall stamped steel with a horizontal ridge near top and bottom, steel top and back flange. Both curve in right & left of center with flat spot for tag.

Re: Is this a factory step bumper?
Really want to ditch my repop sport bumper for one of these. I had a decent one and let it go a while back when I sold a 72.
Any idea of tow rating? Last edited by Hotcorner; 08-07-2018 at 12:26 PM. |
