3/8" Steel Fuel Line to (OEM) in Cab Gas Tank Line Replacement?
I have spent a couple hours trying to find a 3/8" steel fuel line to replace worn 5/16" line prior Owner installed and match other lines already replaced with NO LUCK.
All other hard lines (& rubber connections) are 3/8 inch. You can see the line in question leaning against the refurbished gas tank and the sending unit is fitted for 3/8" too. Any good feedback on where to find would be helpful, thank you in advance. Truck is a '67 Chevy C20 on way back together. DJ Baar |

Thank you but that's for tank with EEC in newer truck (with vent line)?
Note totally different shape. I looked at that and InLine Tube too, etc.... |

Re: 3/8" Steel Fuel Line to (OEM) in Cab Gas Tank Line Replacement?
Thank you but only have access to Classic Parts of America online catalog that has no pictures of any of their lines and I only need the line from tank thru floor.
Worst case I use this 5/16" line until I can make a a 3/8" line. Thought I found this line before but now can't. Most two peace lines listed are like what LMC offers - not the same for OEM non-vented tank. |

Is there supposed to be a fitting on gas line to tank?
I went ahead and ordered the two lines (purchase as a set) from LMC to just get the line in question and move-on with this project.
What I got was a line with no fitting on end going to gas tank sending unit fitting. Is that right? To make it work I need to put an adapter to hose fitting on gas tank sending unit. Also, not impressed with crimped ends. New replacement is on left in first picture and second is picture of tube end. See original picture in this thread of gas tank you will see a fitting is required. Dave |

Re: 3/8" Steel Fuel Line to (OEM) in Cab Gas Tank Line Replacement?
70-72 use a short length of rubber tube to join the line to the sender....
Easiest fix is to find a barbed fitting to screw onto the sender unit pipe.... But...the shape of the new pipe where it goes thru the floor is all different.... I stopped using these metal lines a while back... I run AN 6 braided line and use a AN 6 to 3/8 convertor fitting from LMC to connect to the fuel sender fitting...30-1439 Hope this helps... Bill |

Length is too long even at top. I asked LMC about their Sender if it would make the difference. LMC Sending Unit (PN 32-4022) is listed as "w/4bbl, 67-71."

Re: 3/8" Steel Fuel Line to (OEM) in Cab Gas Tank Line Replacement?
When I ordered the 3/8" fuel lines to replace my 5/16", the first one that got sent to me also didn't not have the threaded fittings on the tank end like the one in your picture. I ordered a second line which had the threaded fitting at the tank end like you need. the line goes through the rubber grommet at the floor and then right about six inches to the rubber hose that connects to the line running to the front. I am looking through my records to see if I can find out where I got the correct one from, but don't have that info yet. But they are available.

Had a Homer Simpson "Doooh" moment. Found the 3/8" line I had bought for pump to carb that didn't work for that, BUT worked for this fitting, & Fuel Line is DONE! Memory is getting as grey as my beard - Guessing this will be my last BIG project.
