Are there alternatives to the side trim?
I'd like to add the side trim that I see on many of the 71-72 Chevy suburbans. I think it just makes these look 'right' and mine does not have it.
I found this: http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/index.aspx?LID=1125 $600 is a bit tough to swallow right now. Has anyone found a less expensive alternative? My rig is already far from stock/original, so its okay if it isn't exactly the same, but I would like something of a similar width that is aluminum and black. Thank you. |

Scan the Suburban parts for sale area. If someone is parting out a Suburban you might find some good pieces.

Thanks, I'll take a look, but I figured the chances of finding a decent complete set was pretty slim.

Re: Are there alternatives to the side trim?
a lot of that trim work is tedious and materials can be fragile..
it's also more daunting task to install new than replace existing.. might consider for your situation having it airbrushed to get the look.. some pictures of painted trim came up recently, can't remember where.. good luck!

Re: Are there alternatives to the side trim?
I realize the resto guys will probably hate this, but I'm thinking of just adding something like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1-4-x-32-...g/253823980663 Its adhesive, so it can always come off later! |
