Help me understand wheel adapter sizes
I'm needing about 1/4 for my rear wheels because they rub sometimes on the inner wheel wells. I bought 5/16 spacers but lugs don't seem there is enough there to be safe. Instead of doing the longer studs I'm thinking of just doing adapters. What is the correct size I need? Looking at 1 in and I think the 5x5 5x 4.75?

Re: Help me understand wheel adapter sizes
You just need a bolt on spacer if you have wheels that work with your stock lug pattern. You need a 5 on 5 x 5 on 5 one inch bolt on spacer specifically. This is unless there is something changed on your truck like a car rear axle or something.

Re: Help me understand wheel adapter sizes
Are you referring spacers or adapters? I bought 5/16 spacers but 1 they don't center the hub so not sure if that is a problem and 2 I don't have much stud left for the bolts it feels like. It's a regular 72 Chevy c10 rear. So I think you are saying I need a 5x5 5x5 adapter that bolts on with 1 inch studs?

Re: Help me understand wheel adapter sizes
I just went through the same thing used 3/8 spacer and found some lug nuts that worked great with out changing studs. Not sure if that style of lug nut would work for your rims. If you do use spacers make sure to check lug nut torque very frequently.

Re: Help me understand wheel adapter sizes
Use a little heavy grease to hold the spacer in place.
If it moves a little it won’t hurt anything. Your lugnuts need to screw on to the stud at least the same size your stud is. For example, a 1/2 inch stud needs the lugnut to screw on at least 1/2 inch. |
