Welcome to the board. I like it! What year rear axle is in it, and how much do the tires stick out past the bed. LockDoc

Welcome and I like it too! Have you considered modified step side fenders?

Re: 1967 Chevy C60 Truck Conversion
Hey guys Thanks. its a 67 axle 15k load. I mocked a piece of sheet metal up to give it a look the top is 5" and slopes to the bottom at 10 3/4".

Re: 1967 Chevy C60 Truck Conversion
I am in the same boat, and the photo of the green truck is actually a set of the bushwhacker types that are plastic but painted to match. They also have the wheel opening cut to fit if that gives you a better idea of it.
There have been other guys that used front fenders and body worked them onto the rears to have a more symmetrical look, albeit much harder to fabricate (and find front fenders in good shape). Below is a picture of what I am talking about that RTech had built.

Quick question, are you using a short or longbox?

Re: 1967 Chevy C60 Truck Conversion
The OP was using a long bed, which most do for this conversion. In all reality, that still makes for a really short and tall truck, stretching the bed to 10' is something I would definitely do if doing mine all over again.

Re: 1967 Chevy C60 Truck Conversion
Cutting up a pair of nos fenders wouldn't get you all the way there ,you would still need lower fender extensions to complete. I have seen modified stepside fenders that looked pretty nice.

Re: 1967 Chevy C60 Truck Conversion
I hate to see good front fenders, that are hard to find as it is, wasted on one of these pickup conversions. The large fender flares made for 4wds looks just great. These trucks need all the front fenders for where they belong, on the front.

I tend to favor the modified stepside fender approach myself, makes a factory appearing dually bed without the sacrifice of rare front fenders. |
