Sidetracked - C10 Dog Dish Uses

Not sure if this is the right place but just wanted to take a minute to share a cool side project when working on the truck starts to be frustrating or the funds are thin. I picked up these dog dishes a while back because I thought they were cool and was going to hang on the wall. Then I was at Wallyworld and saw a clock for $8 and brain started churning... The nice thing about this project is I don't damage the dish and can easily use it in the future. The clock after cutting it down fit perfectly. I may change the paper face of the clock out in the future if I can find a cool C10/GMC sticker to put in it's place.

Re: Sidetracked - C10 Dog Dish Uses

Very Cool indeed!

I have used hubcaps for ceiling light and outlet fixtures by mounting the electrical box to the ceiling, cutting the appropriate hole or square out of the hubcap and then screwing the porcelain light socket or outlet cover plate to the ceiling mounted box. This sandwiches the hubcap and holds it's in place. I'll post a pic if I remember to take one tonight.

I have to admit...there is something a bit sacrilegious about to taking a cutoff wheel to a small stack of Chevy dog dishes. Cutting up the Datsun's didn't bother me so much though!

Sounds cool. Would like to see the pics. I agree with the cutting. That is what makes this so good. I only used hot glue on the back and the clock fit right in the hole. I have seen the clocks where they punch a hole in the dish which look cool too.
