starter solenoid question
i just finished rewiring 70 c10 with the AAW kit and i can't get the starter to kick over now. truck started before no issue; wiring was a mess though.
anyway i can jumper the starter solenoid and it kicks over but not with the ignition key. Started some troubleshooting and found the purple wire going to the 'S' terminal on the solenoid reads closed to ground. This doesn't sound right at all and i can't see any where it would be shorted unless the key switch or my solenoid is bad. Does that purple wire go to ground except for when the key is in the 'start' position? any suggestions? thanks! |

A little more info on the truck would help. V-8, I6, Auto or manual trans, etc. The Purple wire comes from the ignition switch to the NSS (if it has one) and from the NSS through the bulkhead connector to the solenoid. It should be hot when the key is in the "start" position only. LockDoc

Re: starter solenoid question
figured it out. neutral safety switch wasn't playing nice. Just bypassed it for now.
