1962 Rebuild
So I picked up this 62 C20/10 truck a few months ago. It is a C20 body on a C10 chassis (don't know the history there).
My plan is to drop it on to this 1989 K2500 chassis with a 6.0 LS and 4L80E trans. So far I have gotten a new rear slider installed, new side glass and all new seals and made a new floor for the bed. Hoping to get the chassis ready in the next couple weeks and set the body on to it so I can fab up the body mounts. |

Re: 1962 Rebuild
Good luck with that body/chassis swap. You're in for a LOT of work.

Re: 1962 Rebuild
I didn't like the looks of the seam sealer on the cab roof so I pulled out all of the old stuff and resealed last night. Added 4 drain holes similar to what the 64-66 trucks have.
Cab and bed are all unbolted and ready to come off, just need to get the new frame ready to set the cab on to. My helper wasn't much help either!! |

Re: 1962 Rebuild
Got the cab and bed set on the new chassis and made the cab mounts. Still need to do the core support mounts but that should be pretty easy and simple. Now to take the body back off, blow the entire chassis apart and send everything out for sand blasting.
