1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
Thought I would start a thread about building my truck from just a project. Finding parts and the products I used and things I learned. If it helps someone else great.

Re: 1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
Started to weld in door bottoms only to abandon and go to full skins, much easier for the money.

Re: 1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
Door jambs and door inner painted this weekend, new seals here today should be swinging by weds. Time to assemble a few things before exterior paint.

Re: 1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
From these photos your paint work looks great! Did you do all the paint work in your garage or did you use a paint booth? Care to elaborate? I hope I get the courage the spray my truck myself. So far I’ve only sprayed epoxy primer and from what I hear, the final result is all based on the prep work.

Re: 1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
Everything has been done in my brothers garage, over spray has been a problem. some cheap painters plastic is a must. Epoxy primers and urethane 2k primers from Omni used. The plan is to use BASF paints and clears, using HVLP guns. a wet floor helps with dust control and wet sanding clears has been a must as well. We have been unable to keep all dust out of the clears. Make sure to drain compressor before paint process and make sure to have good regulators and dryers inline.

Door seals, doors hung, brakes finished and bled, steering column rebuilt and installed, heater installed, lots of odds and ends finished under truck, hood on for fitment.

Re: 1972 C10 LWB Georgia Project
The workmanship is great I can’t comment on the look until it’s on the truck maybe seem less to those without a keen eye

The grille surround looks amazing.... Is it a new piece? Also the blue looks a bit lighter after the clear was applied. Lovin that color
