plug wire question
About six months ago I put on spiro pro taylor wires. One wire thrid on drivers side boot started to melt. I emailed them and they replaced it for me. One month later it is starting to do it again. I have stock exhuast manifolds.
Do you guys think it is a leak in the manifold I cant really see it back there? Any other thoughts? Thanks

It may be but I doubt it. Can you hear an exhaust leak? It would sound like a ticking near there.

Did it start to melt on the part that is parallel to the plug or on the perpendicular part? If it's on the perpendicular part, try routing your wire further towards the back of the engine.
Alternately you could get one of those little kevlar boots. I have to have those for both #5 and #7 on my engine due to headers. Brian |

Buy some socks (boots) to put on them, work good and look cool

Maybe your timing is off. Or you are running a little lean. That would make your exhust manifolds hotter. Did you change anything else after the new wires? The boots do work nice too.

Where did you get the little boots? I need some for the 84 in a couple of spots.
