Found a 1970 4x4 stepside
I've been looking off and on for a few years now and i think I may have found a decent truck.
The particulars are as follows 1970 4x4 stepside 87k miles 4 speed transmission (granny) Original owner (the son is selling it and has been caring for it since the late 80s but it is still in the original owners name) Original drive train Was bought new in 69 and used as a work truck until early 80s. It sat for a few years and then the father/son did a frame off restoration in 87-88. Doors, rockers, cab floor, cab corners, rear fenders all replaced with GM sheet metal in 1987 as part of the restoration. Seller states there has never been any rain gutter rust. Was driven as a daily until 1993 and then used exclusively for shows / weekend drives etc I'm curious as to what you guys think this should go for. The seller is asking 25k |

Looks to be a very nice truck. $25K nice? That's ultimately up to the future owner.

Looks like a sweet truck! No way I'd pay that much though.

To much undercoating under the cab for me and visible poor floor repairs. Options equal value with these trucks and this is a base truck. IMO its a 12k truck all day.

Re: Found a 1970 4x4 stepside
Yes, I think 25k is too high for this truck. However, cbisson, are you looking for turn key or a project. Some of the prices folks are throwing out may require some level of work to be at the level you're looking for. If you want it already restored, $15-25K, depending on options. Fully restored (or even better yet, original very low mile) Cheyenne Super K10 stepper with 350/350? Yes, you're looking $25K or above. Make it a customized one, i.e. to the previous owner's tastes, maybe $15k if really nice (kinda like this one, IF it's to your tastes also). Running, drivable, and functional, in need of paint and/or mild bodywork? Probably $7-12k.
K10 steppers are cool trucks and have a large following - and nice ones aren't that common. Unfortunately, they aren't that common - have seen MANY more K10 or K20 Cheyenne Supers for sale than all trim levels of a K10 stepper, combined. Upper trim level K10 steppers are rather rare. If you don't care whether it's a stepside or not, you will find more lwb K10s around. But don't look for any K20s, they're all gone, all spoken for, just walk on by as if they weren't for sale.... |
