Surge tank location
Hi all.
It's been a long time since I've visited the site and my truck has been neglected the while time .. I'm getting back to it now and have picked up a basic Sniper kit on Black Friday at a slight discount. I'm going to keep the in-cab tank and mechanical fuel pump to feed a surge tank, but have yet to come up with a location for the surge tank. Has anyone installed a surge tank in an out-of-the-way location? My truck is a 67 Fleetside with a small block. Thanks for any info/pics! HomerJ

Re: Surge tank location
This is the sump that I used Edelbrock 3605. Their brackets would not work so I made my own. Was a tight fit but it works great.

Re: Surge tank location
That looks good.
Are you running a return line back to your tank? I have a Flex-A-Fit radiator with the heat sinks on the tanks. I may make a bracket to work with whatever surge tank I go with.

Re: Surge tank location
I put my surge tank behind the cab under the bed floor. It’s fixed to some brackets which are bolted to the chassis rail. A low pressure pump feeds the surge tank which supplies the efi. From there the fuel returns back to the surge tank which also has a return back to the in standard in cab tank.
I can run the the truck down to near empty and I’ve never had any fuel starvation. It works great.
